The Education Coordinator is the licensed special educator for their assigned caseload and is responsible for the development and implementation of the students’ individualized education
programs and overseeing student educational progress. Specific duties include:
- Prepare educational assessments for re-evaluation (e.g. NECC Core Skill Assessment, relevant sections of NECC Skills Assessment, Brigance, DOE Educational Assessment);
- Prepare for and facilitate (chair/co-chair) IEP meetings while distributing proposed IEP document to funding district;
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for IEP development and implementation;
- Activate/oversee activation of curriculum on ACE (including setting parameters for session tally and PTO);
- Review, edit, and submit progress reports;
- Monitor student progress of IEP objectives and remediate as needed;
- Oversee/assist in case manager training on progress reports, MBO preparation, remediation of student programming, increasing session tally;
- Train implementation of new curriculum during team meetings;
- Oversee/participate in new teacher training, booster trainings for educational programs; and
- Instruct students on caseload, implementing all behavior, educational, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) objective programming.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Employer requires individual to have at least a Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
- Employer also requires one (1) year of work experience in any occupation teaching students with autism or related disabilities using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- In addition, candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of physical and verbal de-escalation techniques gained through one (1) year of work experience.
- Candidate must have a Massachusetts teacher license in Severe Disabilities. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
