Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating heavy equipment, particularly skid-steer loaders. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating and maintaining the skid-steer, as well as performing other tasks as assigned. The role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, as well as mechanical knowledge. The candidate should be familiar with loader operation, grader operation, and backhoe operation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a skid-steer loader in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the skid-steer, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting the machine.
- Conduct regular safety checks on the skid-steer and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, and graders as needed.
- Build and construct structures, roads, and other infrastructure as assigned.
- Ensure the skid-steer is properly secured and stored when not in use.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks and projects efficiently.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge, particularly with Caterpillar equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in heavy equipment operation.
Experience:
- Proven experience in operating heavy equipment, particularly skid-steer loaders.
- Familiarity with loader operation, grader operation, and backhoe operation.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with heavy equipment maintenance.
- Commercial driving experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license is required.
