Cosmetology Instructor

American Beauty College is currently seeking a motivated, organized, self-motivated, and adaptable Instructor/Support Staff member to join our team! We are looking for someone who can multitask, take initiative, support students and staff, and help maintain a positive learning environment while teaching technical skills related to barbering and cosmetology programs.
Schedule Options
- Tuesday – Friday
- AM Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- PM Shift: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- Rotating Saturdays (1 Saturday per month)
Position Overview
In this role, the Barber Instructor will supervise educational operations and provide effective instruction in both classroom and clinic settings. Responsibilities include curriculum support, student supervision, State Board preparation, and ensuring compliance with BPPE, NACCAS, and Board of Barbering and Cosmetology standards. We are seeking someone who is dependable, professional, team-oriented, and able to take initiative while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Teach vocational and technical skills to students
- Guide students during hands-on client services
- Monitor student performance and provide feedback
- Maintain classroom organization and sanitation standards
- Assist with attendance, grades, and student records
- Enforce school and State Board regulations
- Prepare students for State Board exams
- Support front office operations and data entry
- Participate in community events and school activities
Qualifications
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask and adapt to varying duties
- Teaching or salon/barber experience preferred
- Knowledge of barbering and cosmetology industry preferred
- Comfortable using:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- POS systems and Meevo
- Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
- Google Docs and email systems
