GARDEN CENTER WHOLESALE YARD ASSOCIATE/LOADER OPERATOR
Edward’s Garden Center is looking for a driven, knowledgeable, Cashier and Bobcat Operator to join our team.
Spend time working outside at a local, family-owned business. We are a unique, award winning, independent garden center that is customer focused. We pride ourselves on our wonderful and creative staff that go the extra mile to meet our customers’ needs while taking pride in the quality of our grounds.
What you need to succeed:
- Experience with operating a cash register, basic math skills, and ability to communicate effectively using a radio
- Experience with operating small equipment including but not limited to: Bobcat skid steer loaders, forklifts, and small dump trucks is preferred
- A great attitude
- A willingness to learn and try new things
- A strong work ethic and sense of initiative
- The ability to lift up to 75lbs and remain physically active for extended periods
- Ability to work outside during various types of weather (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
Job Description:
- Operating a cash register and assisting contractors with checking out at counter
- Operating Bobcat skid steer loader and forklift to load customer vehicles with bulk and palletized materials
- Provide helpful instruction and friendly service to retail and wholesale customers.
- Assist with loading materials and products into customers’ vehicles
- Unloading inventory from trucks
- Bagging bulk materials as needed
- General maintenance and upkeep of garden center property and equipment
- Assisting in retail garden center with various tasks as needed
What we are looking for:
Hourly part time yard associate
An applicant with a positive attitude and willingness to help customers and fellow employees.
Someone who is able to communicate and work well with others as a team member.
Wage is commensurate with experience.
