We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Medication Access Specialist. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients receive timely access to prescribed medications by coordinating between insurance providers, medical offices, and pharmacies. Duties
- Review and process prescription-related insurance requirements.
- Track and manage request statuses using internal systems.
- Follow up with providers to ensure timely completion.
- Request and organize clinical documentation when needed.
- Update internal notes and statuses accurately in real time.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve delays and improve turnaround time.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices such as CPT, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Experience with insurance verification processes and navigating complex insurance policies.
- Excellent follow-up and communication skills (phone, text, email)
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to catch missing information and take initiative to resolve it.
