Duties
- Efficiently clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper sanitizing procedures to meet food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure sanitation and hygiene are upheld at all times.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain organized storage of clean items and ensure workstations are kept tidy throughout shifts.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Experience with food handling, dishwashing, and basic kitchen operations within a restaurant or catering setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during cleaning or supply restocking tasks.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and sinks.
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Excellent manual handling skills with attention to detail in cleaning processes.
- Prior experience in hospitality or food service environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued.
