We are looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to support our partners' patient populations. The Medical Assistant will work under the direction of a Physician Assistant to complete administrative and clinical tasks as assigned. The Medical Assistant will travel to different skilled nursing facilities in St. George and Cedar City to support on-site patient care.
This role may have the potential to transition into a full-time position, which will be discussed further during the interview process. Candidates must have reliable modes of transportation to travel to their assigned facilities.
Clinical Support and Patient Care:

Assist the Physician Assistant during on-site visits in skilled nursing facilities by preparing treatment areas, supporting examinations, and assisting with minor procedures.

Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and podiatric concerns with accurate and timely care
Patient Treatment and Safety:

Administer medications and assist with treatments as directed and within scope of practice.

Maintain strict infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, disposing of contaminated supplies, and ensuring a clean, safe clinical environment.
Documentation and Medical Records:

Accurately enter patient information, including vital signs and treatment notes into medical records.

Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and adheres to healthcare regulations and facility requirements.

Assist with scheduling of treatments and follow-up appointments to patients
Care Coordination and Communication:

Coordinate scheduling and logistics for podiatry visits across assigned skilled nursing facilities

Communicate effectively with podiatrist, nursing staff, and patients to support continuity of care and address patient needs
Patient Education and Compliance

Provide basic patient education on foot care and post-treatment instructions as directed by the podiatrist

Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and standards

Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate/diploma required

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred

Medical Coding experience a plus, but not required

Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems: experience with PCC or Gehrimed a plus
