Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and other construction machinery using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to address specific repair needs or enhance equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to heavy machinery operation and perform necessary repairs or part replacements efficiently.
- Service and repair farm machinery and industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Perform tire service, wheel alignment, suspension adjustments, and HVAC repairs to maximize safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow schematics accurately for consistent quality assurance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and heavy equipment operation.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, and schematic reading.
- Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, tire service, and alignment procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment servicing are highly desirable; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
