Certified Medical Assistant
* This temporary position is expected to run through November and has been created to support business operations during a team member's maternity leave. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining continuity and contributing to the team's ongoing success.
Clinical Duties:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, chief complaint, and reason for visit.
- Assist OBGYN providers with gynecological exams, prenatal visits, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with specimen collection, Pap smears, cultures, and other women's health procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the provider.
- Perform pregnancy testing, urinalysis, specimen collection, processing, and other basic laboratory procedures within scope of practice.
- Educate patients regarding prenatal care, medications, treatment plans, preventive health screenings, and follow-up instructions.
- Schedule diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Enter patient demographics, medical histories, insurance information, and clinical documentation into the electronic medical record system (eClinicalWorks/eCW).
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, infection control standards, and adequate medical supplies.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced women's health environment.
Experience Requirements
One (1) year or more of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic, physician office, or healthcare setting is preferred. Experience in Women's Health, OB/GYN, Family Practice, or Primary Care is highly desirable.
Candidates may qualify with:
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant work experience; OR
- Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NCRMA, or ABR-OE credentials.
Medical Assistants who have recently graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting training program must obtain MA certification within sixty (60) days of employment.
Incumbents with one (1) year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess active and unrevoked MA certification or ABR-OE credentials must obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.
Certification/Licensure
Required:
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant work experience; OR
- Active and unrevoked certification as an RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NCRMA, or ABR-OE credentialed Medical Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR.
- Previous experience in OB/GYN, Women's Health, Fertility, Prenatal Care, or Family Practice.
- Strong patient education and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment with a high level of professionalism and compassion.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
