Duties
- Operate TMA trucks to provide mobile traffic control and protect work zones from vehicular hazards
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signs, and flagging equipment to direct traffic flow effectively
- Assist with the operation of heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks as needed for site preparation or material handling
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving activities
- Support paving operations by coordinating traffic flow around paving crews and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Monitor construction sites for safety compliance, report hazards, and assist in emergency response procedures
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, equipment used, and safety inspections for documentation purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site operations with knowledge of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL license preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to operate TMA trucks safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques and equipment (e.g., CAT (Caterpillar) systems) is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of traffic control standards and safety regulations applicable to construction zones
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, often standing or walking on uneven surfaces
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and directing traffic effectively
