What We Do: We sell electrical supplies to Electricians, other Contractors and Homeowners.

What You Would Do: You would be more/less involved in the following inventory processes:
- Receiving (unloading freight, checking in freight, stocking freight)
- Order Fulfillment (picking orders, checking orders, packing orders)
- Inventory Management (product location transfers)
*Your involvement with these activities will be primarily more MENTAL than PHYSICAL. You will be standing on your feet with a clipboard in the Warehouse, double-checking that the products are correct--that incoming freight is correct, that sales orders picked to ship are correct, that the Wire that was just stocked onto the wire rack is correct.*

Skill Requirements: ACCURACY, ACCURACY, ACCURACY!!!
90% of our products are EASY and require SIMPLE attention to detail—the part number matches exactly between the physical product, the product box and the product location label in the Warehouse (i.e., Wall Plates, Smoke Detectors, Exit Signs, etc.).
10% of our products are HARD and require some DEEPER awareness, due to "oddball situations:"
- Sometimes physical products do not have part numbers on them
- Sometimes the part numbers do not exactly match between the product box and the product location label (sometimes certain numbers or dashes are omitted)
- Sometimes, due to availability issues, we temporarily purchase an identical product from a similar Vendor but do not fully change the part number in the computer system, because it is only a temporary swap
- Wire Ties come in plastic bags of 100 and the quantity of each plastic bag is “1”; Batteries come in plastic sleeves of 8 and the quantity of each plastic sleeve is “8”
To be effective at this job, you will not need to be an expert on how all the products are used out in the field! But, you will have to USE YOUR BRAIN and pay close attention to part numbers and also retain a significant memory of how to handle these "oddball situations" (or at least always be willing to ASK FOR HELP if you are not 100% sure about a product). We always want to keep our inventory super ACCURATE!
