Role Overview
This role combines in a unified way the client-facing revenue and communications capabilities of a spokesperson with the delivery, operations, and project ownership of a business manager.
This position serves as the primary point of accountability for a portfolio of clients including; pet product manufacturers, pet retailer, pet services companies, distributors & category buyers, industry analysts and trade media - from first conversation to final deliverable.
The role will work with an external data partner in addition to an agency that leads marketing strategy and execution (alongside VP of Marketing), in addition to leading external communications, client relationships, and business oversight.
Prospecting & Pipeline Generation
- Identify and research qualified businesses, target accounts, and prospective decision-makers
- Use phone, email, LinkedIn, and other outreach channels to initiate contact and generate meetings
- Develop outreach strategies to expand pipeline coverage across priority industries and account segments
- Partner with directors and sales leadership to refine account targeting and prospect prioritization
Project Planning & End-to-End Delivery
- Maintain a tight working relationship with the research and insights partner, assisting and supporting the advancement of program milestones and commercial opportunities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, the research and insights partner, and its subscriber portfolio, handling both the business relationship and the delivery relationship
- Own the full lifecycle of each client engagement — from scope definition and kickoff through QA, delivery, and debrief
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones; proactively surface and resolve risks before they impact delivery
- Run all client-facing project touchpoints: kickoff calls, mid-project status updates, final delivery presentations
Budget, Vendor & Operations Management
- Manage project budgets and cost tracking across all active engagements, ensuring delivery within agreed financial parameters
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures for intake, execution, and delivery to drive team consistency and efficiency
- Maintain accurate project documentation, client records, and pipeline data in CRM and project management systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, economics, or related field preferred
- 4–7 years of experience in a hybrid client-facing and coordination role within business development, account management, client services, program management, or vendor management
- Demonstrated success in consultative, strategic, or solution-based selling, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers and communicate the business value of complex products, services, or information platforms
- Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and visual, with the ability to confidently run client, subscriber, and sales meetings as well as the ability to present to and run client meetings confidently. Expectation to speak to media and present seminars.
- Strong project management discipline: building plans, managing timelines, coordinating vendors, and controlling budgets
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM and project management tools
- Analytical literacy: able to understand, interpret, and communicate data and research findings
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within the pet industry, consumer packaged goods, retail, media, or related sectors
- Experience working with market insights, syndicated data, research organizations, membership organizations, industry associations, or subscription-based information services
- Familiarity with syndicated data platforms (Nielsen, Circana, SPINS, Kantar) from either the buy or sell side

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
