Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and customer service will drive customer satisfaction and foster long-term relationships. You will accurately document vehicle issues, prepare estimates using estimating software, and communicate repair needs clearly to both technicians and clients. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed repair orders and estimates utilizing auto estimating software, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnosis results, repair procedures, and parts requirements
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission diagnostics to enhance customer value
- Manage client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explaining repair options clearly
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation for all services performed
- Assist in vehicle inspections for collision repair or routine maintenance, including air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components
Experience
- Proven dealership or auto service management experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Service technician or mechanic experience is highly desirable to understand technical aspects of repairs
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension work, transmissions, and collision repair
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience in auto sales or upselling services to enhance revenue opportunities
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
