Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely according to established safety protocols and handling procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition
- Conduct routine sanitation tasks including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and disinfecting high-touch areas
- Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries
- Maintain detailed logs of cleaning activities and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices
- Familiarity with handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and proper cleaning techniques for different surfaces
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and extended periods of standing or walking
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety protocol adherence
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
