Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Doula Certified to provide overnight support for new families, ensuring both mother and baby receive attentive care during the crucial postpartum period. This role is vital in fostering a calm, safe, and nurturing environment, allowing parents to rest and recover while knowing their newborn is in expert hands. The ideal candidate will bring a warm, energetic presence combined with strong management skills and a deep understanding of infant care, creating a positive experience for families during one of life’s most special moments.
Duties
- Offer overnight support to new mothers and infants, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and monitoring baby’s health and safety
- Manage sleep routines and create a peaceful environment conducive to restful sleep for both baby and parent
- Maintain detailed records of infant care activities, feeding schedules, and any concerns or observations during shifts
- Provide emotional reassurance and guidance to new parents, addressing questions about infant care and postpartum recovery
- Ensure sanitation and hygiene standards are upheld in all caregiving areas, including proper sterilization of feeding equipment and changing stations
- Assist with light household tasks related to infant care to support family comfort and well-being
- Communicate effectively with family members about infant needs, routines, and any issues requiring attention or escalation
Experience
- Prior experience as a postpartum doula or in infant care roles such as babysitting, nannying, or maternity support preferred
- Strong management skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities calmly and efficiently during overnight hours
- Familiarity with popular salon management software such as Millennium or MINDBODY is advantageous for scheduling and record-keeping purposes
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance and emotional support to new parents
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols related to infant care products and environments
- Experience working in customer service or hospitality settings that require high levels of guest services and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to family routines while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude
