Responsibilities
- Provide expert haircuts and styling tailored specifically for children, ensuring a fun and comfortable experience
- Utilize a variety of techniques including hair coloring, extensions, braiding, and hair threading to create playful and stylish looks
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness according to salon protocols and health regulations
- Engage with clients and their families through friendly communication, understanding their preferences and offering professional advice
- Manage appointment scheduling using salon software such as BOOKSY to optimize client flow and service efficiency
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, styling tools, and accessories to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
- Assist with front desk duties including client check-in/out, retail sales, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on kids’ hair styling is preferred
- Strong knowledge of hair care, makeup application, nail care, and barbering techniques
- Familiarity with salon software such as BOOKSY for appointment management and
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children and their parents or guardians
- Ability to perform sanitation procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for all clients
- Knowledge of color theory, store management principles, retail math, upselling strategies, and client communication best practices
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license required; additional certifications in hair threading or nail care are a plus
