Job Summary:
The Hot Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Chinese dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards. This role requires speed, precision, and attention to detail while working on the hot line, including stir-frying, wok cooking, grilling, and sautéing. The Hot Line Cook ensures that dishes are prepared consistently, presented beautifully, and delivered in a timely manner to provide an excellent dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Chinese cuisine dishes on the hot line, including wok and stir-fry items, soups, and other hot entrées.
- Follow restaurant recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment (woks, steamers, fryers, grills, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Work quickly and efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining food quality.
- Ensure proper seasoning, flavor balance, and authenticity in dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hot line and workstations.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Assist with prep work, stocking, and restocking of line items as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team and management to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a line cook, preferably in a Chinese or Asian cuisine restaurant.
- Strong wok cooking and stir-fry skills (or willingness to train).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen with direct use of flames, woks, fryers, and other high-heat equipment.
Opportunities for Growth:
Cooks who demonstrate skill, consistency, and leadership may grow into Lead Cook, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager positions.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
