Independent Cleaning Contractor – Estimated $25–$35 per Hour
SEMS Cleaning Co. is seeking dependable, detail-oriented independent cleaning contractors to provide professional cleaning services throughout Houston, the IAH area, Northeast Houston, Humble, Atascocita, and Kingwood.
All job opportunities are managed through the SEMS platform. Contractors receive notifications by email and text message when a new job becomes available and may choose to accept or decline each opportunity.
This is an independent contractor opportunity. Jobs, hours, and earnings are not guaranteed.
Compensation
Estimated hourly equivalent: $25–$35 per hour
Contractors are paid a fixed amount for each completed property. Before accepting a job, the platform will display:
- The specific payment amount
- Property type and size
- Type of cleaning service
- Estimated number of hours
- Scheduled date and arrival time
- Service location
- Property access details
- Special instructions
Payments for completed and approved jobs are issued weekly.
How the Platform Works
The SEMS platform will contain all information needed to manage each job, including:
- Upcoming and pending jobs
- Completed jobs
- Property and service details
- Digital cleaning checklists
- Required before-and-after photos
- Customer notes
- Job-status updates
- Payment information
Contractors must use the platform to review job details, complete the required checklist, upload photos, and mark the job as completed.
Weekly Availability
Contractors must update their availability in the platform every week.
Availability is used to determine which opportunities are offered. Contractors may decline individual job offers, but once a job is accepted, they are expected to arrive as scheduled and complete it.
Any emergency, delay, access problem, damage, or issue that may affect completion must be reported promptly.
Services May Include
- Airbnb and short-term rental standard cleaning
- Move-in and move-out cleaning
- Deep cleaning
- Reporting damages, maintenance concerns, or missing supplies

Contractors must live within or be willing to travel to one or more of the following active SEMS service areas:
Houston / IAH / Northeast Houston
77032, 77039, 77050, 77060, 77073, and 77093
Humble
77338 and 77396
Atascocita
77346
Kingwood
77339 and 77345
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally able to enter into an independent contractor agreement
- Have reliable transportation suitable for carrying cleaning equipment
- Have a compatible smartphone with reliable mobile-data access
- Have an active email address and phone number
- Live within, or be willing to serve, an active SEMS service area
- Provide ordinary cleaning supplies and equipment or qualify for an approved equipment-rental arrangement
- Obtain the required insurance before platform activation
- Provide updated proof of insurance monthly
- Complete a paid test clean
- Complete the approved background-screening process
- Update their availability every week
- Follow digital checklists and photo requirements
- Understand that jobs are not guaranteed
- Understand that job offers may be accepted or declined
- Understand that accepting a job creates a commitment to complete it or promptly report an emergency
- Provide complete and accurate application information
