General Carpenter,
Location: Pewaukee/Waukesha
Job Type: Full-Time
Build work you’re proud of. Grow into the career you want.
At Committed Contracting, we believe a great construction company is built by more than skilled hands. It is built by people who communicate, support one another, take ownership of their work, and show up ready to get better every day.
We are a growing residential and commercial construction company looking for experienced professionals who want more than the same project over and over again. Our team works on a wide range of projects, including:
- Decks, porches, and pergolas
- Windows, doors, and siding
- Garages and home additions
- Interior and exterior remodeling
- Framing and custom outdoor structures
- Residential and commercial improvements
One week may have you building a custom deck. The next may involve installing windows, framing an addition, remodeling an interior space, or helping bring an entirely new project to life. You will have the opportunity to sharpen the skills you already have while learning new ones from an experienced and supportive team.
What Makes Committed Contracting Different
We take our work seriously, but we do not believe a strong workplace needs to feel cold or disconnected. Communication matters here. Camaraderie matters. Leadership matters.
Our crews work together, solve problems together, and take pride in the finished product together. You will be expected to contribute, speak up, ask questions, and take ownership, but you will not be left to figure everything out on your own.
We create an environment where people can grow into the professionals and leaders they want to become. We promote from within, recognize initiative, and give dependable team members opportunities to take on greater responsibility.
This is a place for people who want to build more than structures. It is a place to build confidence, skills, leadership experience, and a long-term future in the construction industry.
What You’ll Do
- Build, frame, install, and remodel residential and commercial structures
- Work on decks, porches, pergolas, garages, additions, windows, doors, siding, and interior renovations
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, measurements, and construction drawings
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment
- Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, safety, and jobsite cleanliness
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, crew members, customers, and trade partners
- Identify challenges, help develop solutions, and keep projects moving forward
- Support less-experienced team members as your leadership responsibilities grow
- Ensure work meets company expectations, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building codes
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for people who take pride in doing the job correctly, not simply getting it done.
The right candidate will bring:
- Three or more years of construction, carpentry, framing, deck-building, or remodeling experience
- Experience with construction tools, equipment, measurements, and materials
- The ability to work safely outdoors, lift construction materials, climb ladders, and work at heights
- Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills
- A willingness to learn new skills and work across different types of projects
- The ability to take direction while also showing initiative
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Trade-school education or OSHA certification is a plus
- Leadership experience or an interest in growing into a leadership role is strongly valued
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience and ability
- Steady work and dependable hours
- A wide variety of hands-on projects
- Opportunities to learn new trades and strengthen existing skills
- Clear opportunities for advancement
- A promote-from-within culture
- Supportive leadership and strong crew camaraderie
- Safety equipment and a safety-first work environment
- A team that communicates, works hard, and respects one another
- The satisfaction of seeing what you built at the end of the day
Who Succeeds Here
You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be dependable, coachable, safety-conscious, and willing to contribute.
People succeed at Committed Contracting when they communicate, take pride in their craftsmanship, help the team, and want to keep moving forward. Whether your goal is to become a more well-rounded carpenter, lead a crew, manage projects, or develop into another role within the company, there is room to build that path here.
