POSITION SUMMARY
Total Environmental is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labor / Sorter to join our 2nd shift recycling operations team. In this role, you will play a vital part in sorting, processing, and managing recyclable materials to support our mission of promoting environmental sustainability. This is a physically active position that requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently on a fast-paced production line, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sort and separate recyclable materials (paper, plastic, metal, cardboard, etc.).
- Inspect materials for contaminants and remove non-recyclable items from the sorting stream.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each shift.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and management directives at all times.
- Meet production goals and maintain consistent pace and accuracy on the sorting line.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational concerns to the shift supervisor.
- Assist with general labor tasks including loading, unloading, and moving materials as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and safety training sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an entire shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to consistently report on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and willingness to follow direction.
- Prior experience in recycling, manufacturing, warehousing, or general labor is a plus, but not required — we will train the right candidate.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed in an industrial recycling facility. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and outdoor elements. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety vests, is required and will be provided. Steel toe shoes are also required.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
