As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float who is adaptable, dependable, and eager to support multiple providers and clinic operations across our locations.
Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float is a dynamic role that supports both psychiatric and medical providers across our Plano, Fort Worth, and Greenville clinics.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day responsibilities, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable adapting to changing clinic needs. The CMA Float may work with different providers, departments, and clinic locations depending on scheduling and coverage needs.
Responsibilities may include patient rooming, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, assisting with medication management workflows, completing prior authorizations, processing refill requests, providing scribing support, assisting with patient communication, and supporting overall clinic operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and committed to delivering excellent patient care while maintaining flexibility and a team-first attitude.
Essential Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Support psychiatric medication management clinics
- Assist medical providers with patient care and clinical workflows
- Administer psychiatric and medical injections
- Collect and document urine drug screens (UDS) according to clinic protocols
- Assist with controlled substance monitoring workflows
- Perform chart preparation prior to appointments
- Provide real-time scribing support during provider visits when assigned
- Process medication refill requests
- Complete prior authorizations and related documentation
- Triage patient calls and portal messages
- Assist with patient follow-up and care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support multiple providers and clinic teams as assigned
- Travel between Plano, Fort Worth, and Greenville locations as needed
- Adapt to changing schedules, provider assignments, and clinic coverage needs
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Experience with injections, prior authorizations, medication refills, and patient triage preferred
- Psychiatric, primary care, family practice, internal medicine, or specialty clinic experience preferred
- Scribing experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable transportation required
- Willingness to travel between clinic locations as needed

Additional Information
This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to support clinic operations where needed. Responsibilities may evolve as the practice continues to grow and are subject to change at the discretion of the Physicians and Practice Administrator.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
