Seasonal position from May through end of October. Daily activities include operating ATV/UTVs, backpack sprayers, GPS, spray equipment, plant identification, handling herbicides, driving trucks/pulling trailers and working outside independently in remote areas in Montana and the greater Flathead Valley.
We find that people are a great fit for this crew if they enjoy hunting, fishing, or hiking and share a passion for Montana's great outdoors. The majority of this work is focused on forestry, range and pasture management but we also currently offer our services to small residential communities, lawns, and road rights-of-way, etc.
A lot of the work is done using 6x6 UTV's but candidates must also be capable of routinely carrying a 40lb backpack while hiking long distances over rough terrain. Physical fitness is a must.
Some travel required.
Experience is preferred but not required - however the ability to safely and efficiently pull and backup a trailer is a non-negotiable requirement for this position. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with plant identification, experience operating equipment, mechanical acumen, etc. Individuals with experience operating heavy equipment are strongly encouraged to apply. A background in forestry/logging or range management can be helpful. Higher pay for herbicide application experience or to those who have a commercial applicators license.
Clean driving record is required - no DUI's.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle while pulling (and backing up) a trailer is required.
Compensation: Pay starts at $30-$35 DOE plus LOTS of overtime.
