Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Boom Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating various types of aerial booms. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our fleet of bucket trucks, digger derricks, cable placers, and other utility equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects that make a difference in the US power and telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate is humble, proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on aerial booms, digger derricks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Operate heavy machinery such as aerial booms, digger derricks, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment safely during maintenance or testing procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, parts used, and service logs in compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications during repairs and upgrades to ensure equipment meets manufacturer standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience with dealership service environments or heavy equipment maintenance settings.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including aerial booms, digger derricks, and cranes.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics for systems including electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and circuit boards.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Hands-on experience with power tools and hand tools for repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or operational issues.
