Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth, ensuring alignment with early childhood education standards.
- Manage classroom activities to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Use effective behavior management strategies to encourage positive behaviors and address challenges with patience and consistency.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Conduct assessments of child development progress through observations and standardized testing methods to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with additional learning needs or developmental delays.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety, maintaining accurate records of incidents or concerns.
- Plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, arts, literacy activities, and math exercises to stimulate comprehensive development.
Experience
- Prior experience working directly with young children in classroom settings such as preschools or childcare centers is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, and implementing early intervention strategies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management approaches, and working with children with diverse needs enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required to ensure safety during all activities.
- Previous experience in private or preschool environments will be considered an asset; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is also important.
