Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize costs
- Implement and uphold food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards across the kitchen
- Coordinate menu planning and catering services, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and dietary requirements
- Supervise shift operations, including managing schedules, assigning tasks, and maintaining smooth workflow
- Oversee the dietary department when applicable, ensuring compliance with nutritional guidelines and special dietary needs
- Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory levels, and safety inspections
- Support training initiatives for staff development in culinary skills, food handling, and customer service excellence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining establishments with strong culinary skills in cooking and food presentation
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards
- Experience with banquet service, catering, and large-scale food production is highly desirable
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams effectively
- Familiarity with inventory management, cost control, and kitchen management systems
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Background in restaurant or food service management within the food industry is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
