Part-Time Restaurant Team Member — $17.00/hr + Tips, Flexible Schedule | Diego's Pizza (Chula Vista)
Diego's Pizza in Chula Vista is hiring part-time team members. If you want flexible part-time hours that work around school, another job, or your life, this is a hands-on kitchen role with real food prep, customer interaction, and tips. We make pizza and a growing range of menu items, and we use a conveyor oven, so the cooking process is straightforward and easy to learn; no experience needed, and we train you on everything. We hire for reliability and attitude.
Pay $17.00 per hour, plus tips. (Tips are paid out on your biweekly paycheck.)
Responsibilities
- Make our dough and sauce in-house from scratch, and prepare pizzas, subs, sides, and our wider menu to Diego's standards
- Cook using our conveyor oven; consistent, simple, and quick to learn
- Work across all stations: stretch table, makeline, cut table, prep table, register, and phones
- Assist customers in person and on the phone, and upsell the menu the right way
- Do dishes throughout your shift
- Clean during idle time; a busy kitchen gets messy and we keep our facility sharp
- Fold boxes and refill ingredients regularly
- Take all incoming deliveries; this is a core, required part of the Team Member role, and delivery volume can vary
Our whole team is cross-trained, so you'll move between these depending on what the shift needs.
Requirements
- 18 or older
- Valid driver's license and a reliable car
- Reliable and on time, every shift
- Comfortable on your feet in a busy, messy kitchen, including dishes and cleaning
- Willing and able to take all deliveries during your shift
- Strong customer focus and a genuine willingness to learn upselling
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt
- No experience needed; we'll teach you everything
Appearance & Uniform
- Neat, clean, professional appearance during shifts
- Dark denim or khaki pants required as part of the daily uniform
- Non-slip shoes required (for kitchen safety)
