Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and ensuring a smooth dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, POS systems, and a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Previous restaurant or retail experience is preferred, along with excellent communication and math skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and customer satisfaction are top priorities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a quick and courteous manner
- Operate POS system for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipt issuance
- Upsell menu items to enhance sales and improve customer experience
- Assist with food handling, and basic food safety procedures as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and dining area, including bussing tables when necessary
- Support food service staff with basic tasks such as prep or serving when required
- Ensure all sanitation standards are met according to health regulations
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction
- Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies at the cashier station
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, quick service, or fast-food restaurant environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, sanitation, and safety standards within the food industry
- Strong time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience in retail math, cashiering, serving, or grocery store operations is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor
- Prior experience working in a café or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Fluent in English & Spanish
