UW Medical Center-Northwest - Acute Care Resource Team has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Nursing Supervisor (job profile: Registered Nurse 3).
WORK SCHEDULE
3x12 shift schedule
Night shifts (6:00pm-6:30am)
Must be available to work rotating weekend shifts
This position will work a mix of onsite floor shifts and administrative time - additional details will be provided in the interview
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Resource Team provides short term and long term staffing coverage on our inpatient acute care units, which include our telemetry, medical-surgical, rehabilitation, and surgical services floors. Resource Team RNs are also cross-trained to work on our specialty units, including the Emergency Department, ICU, Childbirth Center, and our inpatient behavioral health floors. This is a great opportunity to supervise a team where no two shifts are alike.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
Fosters a supportive working relationship with staff and nursing care teams
Oversees patient placement and throughput
Escalates operational or care issues, including notifications and liaison with the Administrator On-Call
Provides patient relations assistance after hours
Handles patient, staff, and provider escalation for issues related to care or personnel issues
Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
Provides performance feedback to the Nursing Director during annual performance evaluations
Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and workgroups
Provides “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
REQUIREMENTS
4 years of inpatient hospital nursing experience
Previous charge, lead, or supervisory nursing experience
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$50.72 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$93.06 hourly
Other Compensation:
BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
Certification premium - $1.25/hour
Night premium - $5.00/hour
Weekend premium - $4.00/hour
Sunday night premium - $3.00/hour
Float premium - $5.00/hour
