Community Liaison

Responsibilities:
Identify and develop potential referral sources
Increase referral sources through effective marketing
Maximize census through effective marketing and public relations efforts
Receive incoming referrals from hospitals, community agencies, and families
Coordinate admissions meetings with the appropriate team
Speak and/or meet with families about specific admissions requirements and placement procedures
Supervise the readmission process
Attend administrative staff meetings, in-services, and professional workshops
Provide supervision to the admissions coordinator and assume the duties of the position upon absence
Contact area hospitals, community agencies, and groups to promote and maintain good working relationships
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
3-5 years of directly related healthcare experience
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, and facility staff in performance of duties
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admissions process with a nursing facility
Physical Requirements:
Ability to function independently and work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies
Must be in good health and display emotional stability
Can relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
Expectations:
Attend mandatory in-services held at the facility
Understand responsibility concerning infection control, safety, accident, and fire prevention
Discuss any problems, needs, or concerns that arise with the Administrator
Understand and uphold the Residents' Bill of Rights and hold all resident information confidential
Travel:
Traveling is required for this role.
