SALARY: Minimum $150,000, or commensurate with experience
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of seven years successful experience in education, including supervision, administration, and/or equivalent private sector experience required - a minimum of three years experience as a school business official (or assistant) strongly preferred
- Prior experience overseeing a school building construction or reconstruction project strongly preferred
- Prior experience with managing fund balance requirements and opportunities in New York State
- Prior experience with New York State financial aid to K-12 public school districts
- Graduate work beyond the Master's Degree with emphasis on school finance and district administration
- A valid NYS Certificate as School District Business Leader (SDBL) or School District Administrator (SDA)
- Strong communication, problem solving and human relations skills
- Administrative experience in the areas of school business/finance and supervision of support services including transportation, facilities and food service
- Experience in using technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial and support services
- Experience in effectively working with administrators, teachers, support staff and parents
- Positive, student-centered approach to duties and responsibilities
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate

Performance Responsibilities
Contributes significantly to the school district planning and decision-making consistent with the District's missions and goals
- Attends Board meetings and prepares budgetary reports for the Board and other reports as the Superintendent may request
- Assumes responsibility for budget development, budget administration, short term and long term financial planning
- Assumes responsibility for financial and statistical reporting, investments and borrowing
- Assumes responsibility for management of insurance, risk management, environmental health programs and safety programs
- Performs cost analysis of various operations in building usage, maintenance, transportation, food service and technology
- Assumes responsibility for real estate management including purchase, sale, lease and easements
- Assumes responsibility for legal matters pertaining to departments supervised, non-employee claims against the district and tax issues
- Assists with contract negotiations and contract administration
- Supervises purchasing and payroll
- Supervises the management of facilities, transportation, food services and instructional technology
- Works with architect, construction manager and contractors regarding capital projects
- Assumes responsibility for management, analysis and recommendations regarding use of technology (systems, hardware and software) for financial and support services
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent
