Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to inspire and engage students in grades 6 through 8. In this role, you will deliver dynamic math instruction, foster a positive learning environment, and support students’ academic growth. You will utilize innovative teaching methods, incorporate learning technology, and collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive curricula that meet diverse student needs. Your enthusiasm for education and commitment to student success will help cultivate a love for mathematics and critical thinking skills among young learners.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating instructional design principles and learning technology tools.
- Deliver effective classroom instruction that accommodates various learning styles, including special education needs and working with students with disabilities.
- Utilize student management system to track student progress, assign coursework, and communicate with students and parents.
- Develop assessments to evaluate student understanding and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Manage classroom behavior through proactive classroom management techniques and conflict management skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives such as literacy education and early childhood education programs.
- Provide academic advising and tutoring support to help students achieve their full potential in mathematics.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven classroom experience with middle school students, demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
- Prior private school experience and urban school setting is a plus but not required.
Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
