Patriot Properties is seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Technician to support our multi-family residential properties in Dubuque, Iowa.
We are looking for a dependable, skilled professional with strong hands-on experience in apartment maintenance who can manage day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues independently, and efficiently complete service requests. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering high-quality work, communicates professionally with residents and team members, and represents Patriot Properties with integrity and professionalism.
This role is well-suited for a self-motivated individual who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and is interested in long-term growth and advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Drive to multiple properties throughout the day and week
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen appliances (refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, garbage disposals, etc.)
- Repair and maintain bathroom fixtures and plumbing components
- Perform general building maintenance and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose issues and determine appropriate solutions independently
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Communicate professionally with residents and team members
- Use smartphone-based systems to manage work orders, document completed tasks, take photos, track mileage, and follow up as needed
- Perform basic carpentry work as needed based on company needs
- Assist with unit turns on the carpenter team and move-in readiness preparation
Qualifications
- 2+ years of apartment or multi-family property maintenance experience required
- Experience in troubleshooting appliances, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
- Basic knowledge of light carpentry and the safe use of hand and power tools
- Proficient with smartphone technology and digital work order tools required
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing daily priorities
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with residents and team members
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
