We are seeking a reliable Janitorial & Maintenance Tech!
Job Purpose:
The Janitorial & Maintenance Tech ensures facilities are clean, safe, orderly, and in good working condition while performing routine maintenance and janitorial tasks.
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week / Generally 8am to 4pm with flexibility to work outside of these hours occasionally.
Days: Monday through Friday
Location: Mostly at our Corporate Office in Oakland Gardens, Queens, however, will occasionally support our Facilities Maintenance Manager at our other facilities located throughout Queens.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
A. Janitorial/Housekeeping:
- Maintain cleaning schedule and perform general janitorial tasks including: dusting, vacuuming, disposing trash, maintaining restrooms, shoveling snow/ putting out salt and common areas.
- Replenish and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Maintain system/schedule for inspecting building/areas and resolving/reporting issues identified.
- Initiate the resolution of any issues in the environment that can be a risk to safety (wet floors, etc.).
- Follow health and sanitation standards, uses cleaning and tools safely.
B. Maintenance
- Assist the Facilities Manager with maintenance work at other locations throughout Queens.
- Ability to change/install switches, outlets, light fixtures
- Basic plumbing including unclogging drains and repairing leaks
- Basic carpentry / sheet rocking skills.
- Painting, staining/spackling, landscape.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities
- Assist with seasonal maintenance (e.g., basic yard work, snow or debris removal)
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Assist other team members with regard to moving equipment and assembling objects as needed (ie. Furniture, etc.).
JOB QUALITIFICATIONS:
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma / GED
- Previous experience in maintenance, and / or other related fields
- Familiarity with tools, repairs, materials and equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions independently
- Initiative-Oriented.
- Offer friendly and courteous service to our clients and staff members.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
