The World Famous Florida Avenue Grill is seeking experienced Restaurant Servers / Hospitality Professionals to help steward one of Washington, DC’s most historic restaurant brands.

What You’ll Do
- Greet and serve guests warmly, attentively, and professionally
- Take accurate orders and operate the POS system
- Learn and retain menu, service, and operating procedures
- Anticipate guest needs and respond before being asked
- Manage multiple tables and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Recognize what is most important at any given moment and act accordingly
- Task-switch quickly without losing track of responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with guests, kitchen staff, coworkers, and management
- Handle guest dissatisfaction with calmness, empathy, poise, and professionalism
- Accurately process payments and report tips
- Follow opening, closing, sanitation, cash-handling, attendance, call-out, request-off, and other restaurant procedures with ease
- Maintain clean and guest-ready service areas at all times
- Support other team members wherever needed to keep service running smoothly
- Support food safety management practices by following proper food handling procedures and ensuring compliance with health regulations
- Retail sales experience including upselling techniques is advantageous
Previous restaurant serving experience is required.

Employees are also expected to follow all established procedures, including call-outs, schedule changes, requests for time off, punctuality, hand washing, cleanliness, payment handling, and other operating policies.
Reliability, honesty, and following procedures are basic conditions of employment.
Schedule Requirements
A typical server shift is approximately 7:30 AM–5:30 PM.
This position is for candidates who can consistently work full restaurant shifts, not limited or occasional short shifts.
You must be available for:
- At least 3 full shifts per week
- Weekdays and/or weekends based on your agreed schedule
- Approximately 10-hour shifts
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of restaurant serving experience
- Strong customer service / guest experience skills
- Ability to work long shifts on your feet
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant
- Commitment to excellence
- Ability to safely carry plates, trays, beverages, and restaurant supplies
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn a restaurant POS system
- Dependable transportation or another reliable means of arriving on time
