Position Summary:
Must be an experienced and ambitious sales professional. Responsible for proactive as well as reactive sales efforts which will be accomplished through a combination of tele-prospecting and direct sales efforts. Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to work a flexible schedule, be reliable and adhere to start times.
- Wear proper attire and a nametag while on shift. Keep personal appearance professional.
- Complete all required company and brand-specific training and/or certifications in a timely manner.
- Acknowledge guests in public areas with warm friendly greetings. Use the 5/10 rule.
- Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheets, bulletin boards and Pass It On logs to stay current on all changes, new procedures and events.
- Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before they arrive.
- Ensure timely response to clients for all bookings with a maximum of 24 hours for all responses.
- Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business opportunities through account, market penetration and saturation.
- Prospect and qualify all lead sources through cold calls, tele-prospecting and networking to generate new opportunities.
- Maintain monthly activity goals and revenue quotas.
- Establish site visits of model rooms. Conduct hotel tours and site inspections for potential customers.
- Secure the best sales opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs. Establish long-term relationships and commitments from negotiated accounts and group business.
- Use available tools to understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses and know how to sell against them.
- Effectively develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base.
- Perpetuate enthusiasm and a spirit of sales throughout the hotel team by providing training and support related to understanding processes and requirements for doing business with key clients.
- Maintain records of all third-party client contracts to ensure timely renewal and rate negotiations, with the continuous updating and filing of new negotiations respectively.
- Work with various departments as needed to resolve Guest Relation issues, and minimize billing and service errors by proactively educating the team on client-specific needs.
- Create customer correspondence as required: sales agreements, proposals and thank you letters.
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following safety and security protocols.
- Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, rules and standards.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, pivot and grip items while working at assigned tasks.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate all office equipment.
- Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and simultaneously complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
- Must be able to travel from employer's site to customer site. Requires the physical ability to drive an automobile.
Skills, Educational Background, Experience and Basic Expectations:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A team player, yet able to work independently.
- Previous sales experience required.
- Customer Service Skills and communication.
- Able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload.
