NRT Float IIII:
- This position is responsible for caring for a wide range of patient populations as a member of the Nursing Resource Team (NRT), maintaining a high level of adaptability and understanding in each unit. The NRT is a float resource department where nurses work in a variety of care areas hospital-wide. This department requires nurses to be efficient with time management and flexible in working with a variety of teams throughout the various units it supports. Typical float areas for a tier 4 float RN include, but are not limited to, medical-surgical, behavioral health, addiction recovery units, progressive care, the emergency department, and critical care units
- Promotes optimal health, well-being and safety through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, and the Idaho Nurse Practice Act. Provides relationship based care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, coordinated and culturally competent care based on respect for patient’s preferences, values, and needs. Engages fully within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. Integrates best current evidence into clinical practice and uses data to monitor and improve the outcomes of care processes. Uses information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
Circulating Main OR
- Occasional rotations to off shifts, including evenings, weekends, and nights.
- 14 nurses assigned to daytime shifts.
- Minimum of 1 year OR circulator experience preferred.
- Fellowship opportunities may be available, including:
- 6-month program: 2 months of classroom training + 4 months of preceptorship.
Forensic Nurse Examiner
- Serves patients who are potential victims of crime presenting for care across the Kootenai Health organization.
- Care provided must be compassionate, trauma-informed medical forensic care, to include appropriate follow up referrals. Acts as a community expert for forensic nursing.
- Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population
- Actively participate in peer review, professional development, staff meetings, and ongoing continuing education as required
Nursing Professional Development Specialist
- Registered nurse who serves as a learning facilitator, change agent, and role development partner.
- This role supports nursing practice and patient outcomes through evidence-based education, professional development, and collaboration with clinical teams and leadership.
- This NPD Specialist will primarily support the Critical Care service line
- 3-5 years ICU experience required
- Demonstrates accountability for maintaining professional competency and advancing NPD practice
- Evaluates the effectiveness of educational activities
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population
- Assists physician during examinations and procedures
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a national accredited Nursing program required
- RN with less than 3 years’ patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
- RN with at least 3 years’ patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
- CCRN, CNOR, or a minimum of 1 year experience in Critical Care required, as applicable
- State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho prior to start date
- BLS required
