Job Summary:
The Event Setup Team Member plays a key role in the successful execution of events by preparing and breaking down event spaces in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and floor plans. This includes but is not limited to the setup and teardown of furniture, decor, and event infrastructure, as well as the care, cleaning, and presentation of linens and event materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Setup & Breakdown
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, tents, stages, dance floors, and other event equipment as instructed.
- Place linens, draping, centerpieces, and decorative additions per BEO and layout instructions.
- Follow specific floor plans to ensure accurate placement of all items.
- Ensure all items are clean, steamed, and visually appealing before placement.
- Inspect the room for cleanliness and that presentation meets company and client standards and expectations prior to event start time and client arrival.
- Double-check event spaces for symmetry, cleanliness, and alignment with the event plan.
- Linens & Decor Management

- Communicate effectively with other team members and departments.
- Take directions from the Event Operations Manager and adjust setups as needed.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all safety guidelines when handling equipment and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area before, during, and after events.
- Wash, iron, steam, and properly store company-owned linens including tablecloths, underlays, drapes, napkins, and chair covers.
- Ensure all linens, furniture, and decorative elements are in excellent condition and ready for use.
- Maintain inventory and report damaged or missing items to the Event Operations Manager.
- Store all company-owned items properly in designated spot.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in event setup or a similar labor-intensive role is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow floor plans and setup instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of presentation.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
