Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately during retail sales transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with precision.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising to upsell items and enhance the customer experience.
- Manage cash drawer handling efficiently, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and discrepancies are reported promptly.
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the store remains attractive and well-organized for customers.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently to process sales, returns, and exchanges while adhering to company policies.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries.
- Support in-store promotions by engaging customers in product demos and encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising new staff or trainees when necessary.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with store policies at all times.
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic math skills for handling retail math calculations accurately during transactions.
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, product demos, merchandising principles, and upselling strategies.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions both in person and over the phone.
