Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and caring Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support providers, assist with patient care, and help keep the clinic running smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, and enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visits.
- Take vital signs and record patient information.
- Collect lab specimens and perform blood draws (phlebotomy).
- Administer medications as directed by the provider.
- Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
- Assist with patient check-in, medical histories, and insurance verification.
- Schedule appointments and help manage patient flow.
- Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and organized.
- Provide excellent customer service and answer patient questions professionally.
- Assist providers with procedures and other clinical duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Previous medical assistant experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
- Ability to perform basic clinical skills, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
- Current BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain patient confidentiality.
