SkillSet Group is hiring a Production Operator for a steel manufacturer in the McCarran, NV area. This is a temp-to-hire position working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. If you're someone who enjoys physical work, likes staying busy, and is comfortable around large equipment, this could be a great fit.
This is not a forklift or heavy equipment driving position. You'll be operating a remote-controlled overhead crane to move bundles of steel rebar throughout the production facility while supporting the manufacturing team.
Pay: $22.00/hr
Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:00 AM-12:30 PM
Minor overtime as needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate a remote-controlled 5-ton and 10-ton overhead crane to safely move steel rebar throughout the plant.
- Load, unload, and stage material to support daily production and shipping.
- Move finished product to the correct locations based on production schedules.
- Help keep inventory organized by placing material in designated storage locations.
- Work around large machinery and heavy steel while maintaining constant awareness of your surroundings.
- Perform physical work throughout the shift including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pulling, and climbing when needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures while helping keep the production floor clean and organized.
What We're Looking For
- Manufacturing, warehouse, production, steel, construction, or other industrial experience preferred.
- Overhead crane, forklift, or material handling experience is a plus, but candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment around large equipment and steel products.
- Able to work on your feet throughout the shift while performing physical work.
- Reliable attendance and a safety-first mindset.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
