We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical (Med Surg) unit. The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical competence, strong assessment skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with the perioperative team, patient education, and accurate documentation in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric patients.
- Deliver safe, competent, and individualized nursing care in a team-based Med Surg environment.
- Document patient care accurately and timely, including assessments, education, and progress.
- Demonstrate professionalism by following hospital policies and pursuing ongoing growth.
- Provide courteous, respectful communication to patients, families, and team members.
- Follow all safety protocols, including patient identification and proper body mechanics.
- Support surgical patients by understanding procedures, anesthesia types, and recovery needs.
- Prioritize and adapt patient care based on condition changes and clinical needs.
- Educate patients and families on procedures and postoperative care.
- Review and ensure completion of appropriate Pre-Admission Testing (PAT).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med Surgical setting
- Current BLS certification
- Proficient in IV start and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
