Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Program Director to lead the Westminster Child Development Center, dedicated to fostering a nurturing, educational, and inclusive environment for young children. This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape early childhood education programs, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to promote optimal development and learning experiences. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision, management expertise, and a heartfelt commitment to supporting children’s growth and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day to day operations for the Westminster Child Development Center including enrollment, scheduling, payroll, staff hiring, maintaining student and staff files, maintaining staff ratios, and communicating with staff and families.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans that support developmental milestones and promote engaging learning experiences for children.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives to enhance program quality, expand community outreach, and ensure long-term sustainability.
- Oversee budgeting processes, manage financial resources effectively, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Supervise staff including teachers, administrative personnel, and support staff; foster a positive team environment through mentorship and professional development.
- Cultivate relationships with families, community organizations, and Westminster Presbyterian Church to strengthen program impact.
- Work closely with WECEP management team for the benefit of the program.
- Ensure adherence to licensing standards, health and safety regulations, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Attend Board or parent meetings as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field with 2 years of experience in early childhood education or Associate's degree in related field with 4 years of experience in early childhood education.
- Education must include at least 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
- Exceptional communication skills to inform and engage families and staff.
- Excellent strategic planning abilities coupled with effective budgeting skills.
- Background in fundraising activities to support program growth and sustainability
- Management experience in a licensed childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
