The Zembrodt Education Center is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our Education for the Extraordinary program. What You'll Do
As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction and individualized support that promotes students' academic, social, functional, behavioral, and emotional growth.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect each student's strengths, needs, and educational goals.
- Assess student performance, collect and analyze data, and adjust instruction to promote continued growth.
- Collaborate with families, administrators, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive student support.
- Partner with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and other specialists to deliver an integrated educational program.
- Create a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom that encourages independence, confidence, self-advocacy, and postive behavior.
- Differentiate instruction using evidence-based practices to meet individual learning needs.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete all required documentation in compliance with Kentucky Department of Education requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, school districts, and community partners while serving as a professional representative of the Zembrodt Education Center.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university required.
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred:
- Moderate and Severe Disabilites (MSD) certification.
- Experience working with students with significant or diverse learning needs.
