Job Summary:
The Press Production Manager facilitates effective communication between departments, develops training programs, conducts performance reviews, and oversees the workflow to ensure smooth production of products. They actively support continuous improvement projects, maintain compliance with quality and safety standards, and perform various duties to uphold the company's mission and vision while adhering to safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position manages all employees working in upstream press production: Press Room Supervisor/Lead(s), Press Operators, Press Assistants, Ink Room, Plate Storage, Plate Making, Hot Stamp, Offline Sheeter, Tray Wash Room.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Facilitates communication between departments to ensure smooth and efficient production and shipment of products.
Assists in developing training programs for upstream press operations, helping employees enhance their skills.
Leads and implements training for Press Operators, Press Support, and Production Leads.
Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of training efforts, including HOP/OEE and Quality metrics.
Manages all aspects of upstream production in a collaborative team environment.
Supports continuous improvement projects focused on cost, safety, quality, and service enhancements.
Oversees and conducts annual/quarterly performance reviews for direct reports according to company policy.
Develop and conduct 30/60/90 day new hire performance reviews.
Supports Press Room Supervisor with day-to-day personnel matters such as attendance, conduct, and disciplinary actions.
Recognizes and rewards outstanding employee achievements using Hub recognition programs.
Assists in developing procedures, job descriptions, and collaborates with other departments on joint procedures as needed.
Participates in staff recruiting and screening with HR.
Oversees workflow in upstream press operations and press support functions.
Performs regular audits in upstream production to ensure compliance with quality and safety processes.
Evaluates daily metrics and communicates production results to production teams.
Oversees 6S methodology for all upstream production.
Performs other duties as needed to support the company's mission and vision.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented
Ability to act with a sense of urgency
Education & Experience:
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Two (2) years experience as manager/leader position is preferred
Prior knowledge of print is preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Specific sight requirements include: close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with mechanical assistance
Time is spent performing physical tasks in a manufacturing environment
The work environment is that of a manufacturing facility. Conditions change as the outdoor climate changes. There are moderate exposures to heat and cold, as well as, exposure to moderate noise levels, moving equipment, and other general manufacturing hazards.
