Position Summary: The Kindergarten Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting in the care, supervision, and management of a class of students in accordance with the mission and curriculum plan of Saint Paul’s School. The principal duties of the Kindergarten Assistant Teacher include: collaborating with the Lead Teacher to carry out activities on a daily basis, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and contributing to the effective operation of Doyle Towne. The Kindergarten Assistant Teacher reports directly to the Director of Doyle Towne and Doyle Towne Landing.
Job Description
- Support in the delivery of curriculum founded on the school’s philosophies whilst following childcare regulations
- Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
- Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff
- Observe and record children's growth, development, and behavior
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, and safe
- Help develop teaching goals for the school and its teachers
- Good classroom management skills
Education:
- Required: Associate Degree
- Required: CDA/CDAE/FCCPC/ or higher CPR /First Aid Certificate
Additional Requisites:
- Passion for working with young children
- Experience working in a childcare setting
- Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- A good level of computer literacy
- Current First Aid certificate with anaphylaxis and asthma training
- Ability to pass a Level 2 FBI Background Check
- A good understanding of early childhood learning and development
- US work authorization
