Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance.
- Handle custodial tasks including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and disinfecting surfaces to promote hygiene.
- Maintain facilities by performing light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed for plumbing or electrical issues.
- Support general facilities maintenance activities to ensure the environment remains safe and functional for all users.
- Follow safety protocols and proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a secure workspace.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, stripping, waxing, and industrial cleaning methods.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting basic equipment issues.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning supplies, tools, and safety procedures related to custodial work.
- Previous porter or industrial cleaning experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
