The Assistant Coach, Men’s Swimming, will assist the John Goldman’s Director of Men’s Swimming, with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship-caliber team. The Assistant Coach is responsible for operating within the rules of the Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies. This position is a fixed-term role based on the Stanford main campus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- On Deck Coaching: In conjunction with the head coach, planning, writing, and overseeing a seasonal plan. Coaching multiple groups on deck.
- Recruiting: Identifying prospective student-athletes through websites and club visits; communicating with PSA’s during allowable periods; updating Compliance and Recruiting platform; setting up home visits and official visits.
- Team Management: In conjunction with head coach, meeting with student-athletes and team to better understand and impact culture.
- Compliance: In conjunction with head coach, timely input CARA hours. Attend all coach education meetings, promote a culture of compliance, etc.
- Logistics: In conjunction with head coach, identify flights, hotels, restaurants for team travel trips.
- Staff: Cohesively work with Diving Coach as well as Women’s Coaching staff to promote an environment of Aquatics excellence.
- Participate in alumni relations, fundraising activities, and other program communication and relationship management as appropriate.
- Assist with summer camps and clinics.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The expected pay for this position is $72,5,00- $82,500 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
