Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry chef or assistant chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, with experience in cake decorating, food preparation, and food handling. This role involves creating beautiful and delicious pastries, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs using various decorating techniques
- Package finished products attractively for sale or delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area
- Assist with food production tasks, including mixing, portioning, and assembling baked goods
- Ensure all food handling complies with safety and sanitation regulations
- Support the team during catering events or special functions as needed
- Manage inventory of baking supplies and ingredients to prevent shortages
Skills
- Proven experience in pastry arts, baking, or culinary roles within the food industry
- Strong cake decorating skills with attention to detail and creativity
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with clients or guests when necessary
- Experience with packaging baked goods attractively for retail or delivery purposes
- Familiarity with catering or restaurant environments is a plus
