Job Summary
You bring culinary creations to life! If you’re ready to take your culinary passion to the next level, consider an opportunity as a line cook at our hotel! You will be tempting the palettes of our guests with your culinary presentation, quality and flavors. You will be cooking for both established restaurant and in-room dining menus for the Hilton Garden Grille and special banquet events for the event center. The Chef relies in you to “get it right” and you take pride in making it happen. The bustle and intensity of the kitchen energizes you. You understand the importance of staying within budget, and knowing exactly how much to prep. Full time and Part time positions available!
Job Specific
- Prepare all menu items according to standard
- Perform a variety of cooking techniques
- Portioning food appropriately
- Perform knife skills including, but not limited to, julienne, medium dice, rough chop, chop herbs, Chiffonade, etc.
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products so as to comply with health department regulations
- Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
- Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner
- Build positive relations with team members and supervisors
- Exhibits ability to prioritize work and ensure immediate needs are met
- Understands and shows commitment to teamwork, knowing when to ask or offer help to or from colleagues
- Understands and follows sanitation practices
- Properly cools and stores all foods
- Keeps station and coolers clean and neat during shift and makes sure sanitation is clean and neat for oncoming shift
- Carefully follows standard recipes when pre-preparing and preparing all items
- Assists with preparation of other food products as needed
- Has complete knowledge of all items on menu and daily specials, how to cook, plate presentations and portion size
- All other tasks and duties as assigned
General

Qualifications
- 1 year of previous experience in restaurant and/or culinary experience in a restaurant is preferred.
- Time management and organizational ability required for high quality food production.
- Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks.
- Food Handler Certification
- Trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment usage.
- Able to multitask in a dynamic, and fast paced environment.
- You're able to establish a positive rapport with many types of personalities.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Able to work alone or able to work as part of a dynamic quality-driven team
- Basic English language skills
- Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds repetitively during entire shift
