Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and daily meal preparation to ensure timely service
- Handle food with proper safety and sanitation practices, maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Support the cooking process by executing various culinary techniques, including chopping, sautéing, grilling, and plating
- Maintain accurate food handling procedures and adhere to food safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours
- Assist with catering orders and special event meal preparations as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required
- Proven culinary experience in a restaurant or food industry setting demonstrating knife skills and food preparation expertise
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Strong understanding of menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Basic knowledge of catering, serving, and kitchen equipment operation is a plus
